West Ham Fire Brigade post ww2 was began in 1948 after the N.F.S ( National Fire Service ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades. West Ham was a small area of East London & covered just 7 square miles & had 2 fire stations. Original West Ham Fire Brigade cap badges have 2 main variations being a dark yellow or light yellow colour. This cap badge manufactured by London Button & Badge Company has the enamel centre fixed to the standard lined economy issue Home Office star via a brass pin, both cap fixing lugs to the rear are intact.
