West Bromwich Fire Brigade post ww2 ( world war 2 1939 to 1945 ) began life in 1966 when the older county borough of Smethwick & West Bromwich Fire Brigade was disbanded following re organisation of that part of the west midlands. Some area's of Staffordshire were taken in by the West Bromwich county borough including Tipton, Wednesbury & Coseley & the brigade was named West Bromwich Fire Brigade. Covering an area of 18 square miles with 3 fire stations, original West Bromwich Fire Brigade cap badges are harder to come by as the brigade was in force until 1974 so only 8 years !
