A hard to obtain original Teeside Fire Brigade & Ambulance Service cap badge in force for only 6 years...yes ONLY 6 YEARS.....this brigade formed in 1968 after the amalgamation of Middlesborough Fire Brigade & parts of North Riding Of Yorkshire Fire Brigade & Durham Fire Brigade ! These included the boroughs of Stockton on Tee's, Thornaby on Tee's, Redcar, Eston, Guisborough, Saltburn, Marske by Sea & Stokesley in North Yorkshire! The Middlesborough Fire Brigade ceased to exist & Teeside Fire Brigade was born! The badge is in original & excellent condition, also apparently worn by the ambulance service too. The area covered was 77 square miles & the brigade had 6 stations covering that ground!
A nice rarer cap badge of a brigade lasting only 6 years when the brigade amalgamated into Cleveland County Fire Brigade in 1974 after the governments new fire service reforms act & taking away the control of county borough brigades, merging them with counties to form just regional & county controlled fire services!
