An original issue St Helens Fire Brigade 1948 to 1974 cap badge in great condition. 
St Helens Fire Brigade post ww2 only had 1 fire station covering 12 square miles of the St Helens area so original cap badges are not so easy to find for new collectors. The badge has the chrome enamel centre attached to the standard economy issue lined Home Office star and both cap fixing lugs attached to the rear of the badge. There is brass showing through on the lugs which is a very good indication of an early issued badge, later issues had all chrome lugs. The patina of the enamel is also really good.
