Sapper Arthur A Creese no 1772 Royal Engineers 1st South Midland Field Company was aged 18 when he was killed digging trenches on the Somme battlefield in France in world war one. A German shell detonated close to him on 20th August 1916, he was buried in Aveluy Communal Cemetary in France.
