Perth & Kinross Fire Brigade was formed in 1948 after the N.F.S National Fire Service ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades. Perth & Kinross Fire Brigade had 18 fire stations covering 2,575 square miles of area.

This cap badge manufactured by London Button & Badge Company is possibly a factory error badge. From the front the badge looks good but the enamel centre has been spot welded to the front where the cap badge lugs to the rear of the badge are not central, the centre has been welded on whilst the badge was off centre & both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear of the cap badge in the normal way.
