North Wales Fire Service formed in 1997 when the former Welsh county fire brigades from 1974 disbanded forming  3 main fire brigades, North Wales, South Wales and Mid and West Wales. In 2004 the brigade changed its title to North Wales Fire & Rescue Service but kept the same badge issued to the North Wales Fire Service in 1997 !
This North Wales Fire & Rescue Service cap badge manufactured by Toy Kenning and Spencer, official cap badge suppliers to the brigade, is in immaculate mint condition. The enamel centre fixed to the standard fully pressed issue Home Office star and both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the star.
