An extremely nice condition 1918 through 1920's & 30's brass fireman's helmet to the National Fire Brigade Association formed 1918. 100% original period helmet, very minor dents as you'd expect from an operationally used helmet but very nice overall shape & condition. The original leather draw string liner is complete, all bolts original Merryweather "cheese head" bolts, the badge has never been touched or replaced, no splits around the cone whatsoever & depicting the raised dragon motif on each side. The original screw thread rossettes are in place but no chin strap. The unique star shaped helmet badge depicting the standard fireman rank secondary badge attached to the centre of the star. 

Formed in 1918 the National Fire Brigade Association lasted until 1949 when it became The British Fire Services Association. The N.F.B.A was formed when The National Fire Brigades Union decided to break away from the mainstream trade union movement, renaming itself !
