Mid Glamorgan Fire Service was born in 1974 after the Fire Services act of the same year merged all previous county borough fire brigades into county fire brigades.
Mid Glamorgan comprised of the Brecnockshire & Radnorshire Fire Brigade, Glamorgan Fire Brigade, Merthyr Tydfil Fire Brigade & Monmouthshire Fire Brigade merged into one fire service & in 1996 merged into The South Wales Fire Service.
This cap badge is in excellent condition, manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham has the enamel centre fixed to the standard fully pressed Home Office star & both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
