A genuine harder to obtain chrome shield variation of the Leicester City Fire Brigade post world war 2 cap badge. In service from 1948 to 1974.  These early issued chrome shield badges for some reason are scarcer on the open market, fewer manufactured. 
This variation does have some minor enamel damage to the centre, but the badge is original, the enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue, lined home office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
