A nice example of the 1952 to 1965 "small waves" variation of the L.C.C London County Council Fire Brigade cap badge which change in 1965 when London changed its title to the G.L.C Greater London Council London Fire Brigade. 
The badge depicting "old father Thames" within the shield comes in 3 variations, a thin & thick waves variation & a chrome cap badge which is very rare!
This cap badge is a lugged early variation manufactured by Marples & Beasley Badges of Birmingham who were the official suppliers to the London Fire Brigade at this time. 
The cap badge is in good condition with no enamel chips to the surface of the centre.
