An original issued and used cap badge from the small county borough post war fire brigade in Kingston Upon Hull on the North East English coast. After the NFS ( National Fire Service ) handed back fire control to regional county and county borough fire brigades, Kingston Upon Hull Fire Brigade lasted until 1974 being disbanded and meged into Humberside Fire Brigade. With 4 fire stations covering 23 square miles of area, 2 variations of cap badge were issued and worn during this period. a chrome and gilt variation of the same badge design.
This is a good used original gilt variation cap badge which has a few minor flaws, traces of rubbed gilt , an early issue. the lugs still intact to the rear of the standard economy issue, lined Home Office star.. A good old and original cap badge used by the Kingston Upon Hull Fire Brigade late 1940's and early 1950's.
