Nice early and original 1870 Prussian/German 1st class Iron Cross awarded during the France/Prussian war. This award is in uncleaned original condition with original box of issue. There are rust marks on the iron centre of the medal which is made from the standard 3 piece locket construction, a central iron enamel cross set within the 2 piece outer beaded edge. The vertical flared pin back attachment and loop intact to the rear. Fine beading detail around the edge of the black iron centre is a good indication of quality manufacturing.

There is age to the piece as you can see by the pictures but in very nice condition. No makers mark present but 100% original!
