This Imperial German campaign medal was instituted in 1901 by Emperor Wilhelm II to combatants and non combatants who tended to the sick and wounded in the war zone during the 'Boxer' uprising of Peking in 1900.
Struck by Professor Walter Schott the famous Berlin designer and manufactured by Mayer and Wilhelm of Stuttgart.
2 varieties exist, a bronze version for combatants and a silvered steel version for non combatants of which 5,000 were produced.
This is a non combatants issue in good condition.
