Otherwise known as Imperial Chemical Industries this famous British company formed in 1926 was the largest British chemical production company almost throughout its 82 year history, finally being taken over by Akzo Nobel in 2008 & various parts of the company being sold off or merged within the new company. Its first Chief Executive Officer ( C.E.O ) was the companies founder, Alfred Monk, the 1st Baron Melchett & the company, made famous for not just its paint production which catapulted it to be a household brand name, but also involved in the food industry with ingredients such as polymers, fragrances & flavourings & also branching out into its own brand of electronics!.
