Hampshire Fire Service was formed in 1948 after the 1947 Fire Services Act returned fire control from the National Fire Service ( N.F.S ) to regional county & county borough brigades. 

This Hampshire Fire Service cap badge manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham is in excellent condition. The enamel centre fixed to standard issue fully pressed Home Office star via 2 straps, the 2 cap fixing lugs intact to the rear.
