The transformation of Guyana Republic independant state happened in 1966 after British Colonial rule ended. Formerly known as British Guiana from 1928 the 1st fire brigade official cap badge was a one piece cap badge with a slider in nickel white metal with a K.C. The 2nd pattern came in the 1950's which was a two piece standard British manufactured Home Office star with seperate enamel centre.
This official 3rd pattern intruduced from 1966 onwards is again a British manufactured 2 piece cap badge, the Guyana national emblem enamel centre attached to the standard pattern lined economy issue Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs attached to the rear of the badge. In mint unissued condition makes a nice addition to any collector of worlwide fire brigade cap badges.
