An original Guernsey Fire Brigade 1948 To 2006 much  rarer chrome variation cap badge manufactured by London Badge & Button Co in the 1970's. Only a small batch of chrome badges exist & was possibly an error batch or a factory proof. I have seen these occassionally in collections & have one in my own collection,. It took a long while to obtain an original as Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham manufactured reproduction badges from 1976 onwards. London Badge & Button Co started manufacturing in the late 1960's & its possible their first batch made for Guernsey States Fire Service was the error. The majority of Guerrnsey States Fire Brigade & current Fire & Rescue cap badge are gilt !
The cap badge is in excellent condition, the enamel centre fixed to the standard issue fully pressed Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge.
