This 1st pattern cap badge is quite desireable because of only 2 years in force being replaced by the 1st pattern coat of arms cap badge. This cap badge of Greater Manchester County Fire Service 1974 to 1976 manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham is a reproduction which is a one piece cap badge as the original is. The difference is the smooth circular rear, originals have a very small prominent dot. The badge has good patina and front wise you would not know the difference. There is only one cap fixing lug to the rear of the cap badge.
