A good example of a pre 1974 Gloucester City Fire Brigade senior officers peaked hat. Gloucester City Fire Brigade was a small county borough fire brigade covering 8 square miles of area with 3 fire stations. So senior officer peaked hats for this brigade are not so common with a brigade lasting just 27 years. The hat was purchased from a Gloucestershire auction house so i am assuming it came locally. 
The hat is in overall good condition for it's age & is manufactured by Bates Hat Manufacturing Company from London, a famous hat maker since 1898 & who have over 120 years manufacturing quality headgear. Many fire brigades used Bates for manufacturing fire brigade hats & this hat has the desireable smaller peak that senior officers preferred with a single row of silver bullion oak leaves denoting a senior officer below Assistant Chief Officer rank.
