A very nice un issued Glasgow Salvage Corps cap badge manufactured by London Button & Badge Company. This is the 2nd pattern cap badge used by the corps, the 1st being gothic intertwinned letters GSC in chrome, the previous version being the same but in brass ! This cap badge is perfect condition, the enamel centre welded to the star & showing good patina, the 2 cap securing lugs intact. A great addition to a fire service cap badge collection being that this badge was only in use for 5 years before the corps was disbanded along with London & Liverpool, the countries 2 other salvage corps & the salvage roles being undertaken by firefighters, although not in as effective a role as the specially trained salvage corps personel !
