Glasgow Fire Service post ww2 & N.F.S ( National Fire Service 1941 to 1947 ) was formed in 1948 after the N.F.S handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades. Glasgow City had 15 fire stations covering 62 square miles of the Glasgow area & had 2 variations of cap badge in force, a dark red enamel & a light red enamel !

This Glasgow Fire Service 1948 to 1975 cap badge is the light red variation, the enamel centre attached to the standard fully pressed Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge . There are some minor chips to the enamel part of the cap badge but overall the badge is in good condition !
