Glasgow Fire Service post ww2 was formed in 1948 after the National Fire Service handed back regional fire control to county & county borough fire brigades. Glasgow, a large city had 15 fire stations covering 62 square miles of area. 2 variations of the cap badge exist mainly light or dark red.

This cap badge is in great original condition, it is the light red variation & excellent patina to the enamel, the centre fixed to the standard economy issue, lined Home Office star by a thin brass pin, , both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
