Glasgow Fire Service post ww2 was formed in 1948 after the National Fire Service handed back regional fire control to county & county borough fire brigades. Glasgow, a large city had 15 fire stations covering 62 square miles of area. 2 variations of the cap badge exist mainly light or dark red.

This Glasgow Fire Service 1948 to 1974 dark red variation cap badge is in excellent condition, Manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham, the enamel centre is fixed to the standard issue fully pressed Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
