German 1915 WW1 Lusitania Medallion - Produced by Karl Goetz, a German artist who tried to justify the sinking of the Cunard passenger liner, R.M.S. Lusitania on 7th May 1915.
Of the 1,201 people who perished, 124 were American citizens and brought America into the first world war!
This example bears the date 5th May 1915, an error in the medallion which was in fact Goetz's "own goal" as he admitted he got the date wrong. The error was corrected and the medallion was re-issued.
