A Scottish Dumfries & Galloway Fire Brigade senior officers cap badge from 1975. Manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham the badge is a 1st issue gilt badge in exceptional condition. The 2nd issue was a chrome variation & in use until 2005. The economy issue home office star attached to the wreath of an officers pattern cap badge & both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge. The brigade changed briefly to Dumfries & Galloway Fire & Rescue Service in 2005 before merging with all other Scottish fire services after only 8 years in 2013 to form The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.
