Dorset fire brigade post ww2 had 21 fire stations covering an area of 973 square miles.

This is a Dorset Fire Brigade cap badge from the period 1958 to 1998 when the brigade changed its title to Fire & Rescue Service. There are 2 variations of the badge, one with the tips of the turret touching the outer red ring circlet & another with a gap between the tips & the outer red ring circlet.

This badge manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham is in excellent condition. The enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue, lined Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge.
