One of the 3 rare City of Coventry Fire Brigade cap badges from the post war 1948 to 1974 period. Coventry was one of the handful of small county borough fire brigades that boasted 3 different patterns of cap badge worn between the same period.
All 3 Coventry cap badges of this era are hard to obtain as the brigade itself was not a large fire brigade, 3 stations covering 30 square miles. The cap fixing lugs are intact but have been pinched together as the badge was loosely mounted on a board when we obtained it. This is the 2nd pattern cap badge issued to The City Of Coventry Fire Brigade & was issued from 1952 to 1966. It is the enamel shield variation & like the other 2 variations is extremely hard to obtain for collectors today ! The 3rd pattern was issued from 1966 to 1974.

This 2nd issue cap badge manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham  is in excellent condition with the enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue

, lined Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs are also intact to the rear of the badge.
