Central Scotland Fire Brigade was formed in 1996 by the Scottish Local Governments renaming the previous Central Region Fire Brigade & this new cap badge was created lasting until 2005. Covering 1,013 square miles of area with 16 fire stations & 3 volunteer fire units serving a population of 293,000 people. There are 2 suppliers of original cap badges to the brigade, Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham supplied the 1st batch & London Badge & Button Company of Northampton supplied the later batches. This cap badge of Central Scotland is a Mike Trueman manufactured badge, the 1st issue. In great condition it has the enamel centre fixed to the standard issue lined economy Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
