Cambridgeshire Fire Brigade born in 1948 after The N.F.S ( National Fire Service ) handed back fire control to regional county & county borough fire brigades had 10 stations covering 492 square miles of area. Amalgamating with Isle Of Ely Fire Service to form the Cambridgeshire & Isle Of Ely Fire Service in 1965. There are 2 variations of cap badge in force for this brigade, a chrome & a gilt variation. This is the gilt variation cap badge, manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham. The enamel centre fixed to the standsard economy issue Home Office star by 2 straps, both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear of the cap badge.
