The British Fire Services Association was formed in 1949 after The National Fire Brigades Association & The Professional Fire Brigades Association merged. The N.F.B.A began its roots in 1887 with the forming of The National Fire Brigades Union which in turn became The N.F.B.A in 1912. The Proffessional Fire Brigades Association had been in force since 1902!
The B.F.S.A as it is known is made up of professional & private + public sector firefighters & provides training courses in all forms of fire service roles including water & ice rescue. A very important role in British firefighting, this 2nd pattern enamel cap badge is in mint condition & appears un issued, the enamel is perfect & cap fixing lugs to the rear are also perfectly shaped.
