A Brighton Fire Brigade 1948 to 1974 original early issue cap badge. The enamel centre is fixed to the standard economy issue, lined Home Office star, both the longer cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear indicating an early issue as the shorter cap fixing lugs were introduced in the late 1950's. There is an enamel chip on the red ring, a trick to repair damaged enamel is to match an appropriate red nail varnish with the colour.
