These square shaped B.A ( breathing apparatus ) qulification sticker type transfers were applied to the side of the yellow Cromwell cork fire helmets of the 1970's & 1980's & were in use by several fire brigades as a mark of qualification. Previously in the post 1948 era , a chrome enamel badge was worn on the sleeve of the wool fire tunics to show the same qulaification.

In nice unused condition they are merely applied by peeling off the paper backing & stuck firmly to the appropriate side of the fire helmet.
