A Blackpool Fire Brigade 1948 to 1956 officers gilt cap badge.
Blackpool Fire Brigade post world war 2 was formed in 1947 after the National Fire Service disbanded. A county Borough fire brigade with 3 fire stations covering 17 square miles of area. There were 2 main variations of cap badges worn between 1948 & 1974 when the brigade merged in Lancashire County Fire Brigade. This cap badge is the 1st pattern gilt officers cap badge worn between 1948 to 1956 when a new chrome coat of arms cap badge was worn until 1974
The cap badge manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham is in excellent condition, the enamel centre fixed to the standard economy issue lined home office star & both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the cap badge.
