The much harder to obtain Blackpool Fire Brigade post war cap badge in force for only 8 years when the brigade changed its cap badge design to the chrome coat of arms.
Blackpool Fire Brigade post ww2 had 3 fire stations covering 17 square miles & merged into Lancashire County Fire Brigade in 1974 after being disbanded by The Fire Services Act of the same year. The pre war Blackpool Fire Brigade cap badge was a "flaming bomb" grenade style cap badge with the bold letters BFB on the front. This Blackpool Fire Brigade cap badge does have some enamel damage to the red ring centre but the badge is complete and original. The centre fitted to the standard economy issue, lined Home Office star and both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge.
