The much harder to obtain Blackpool Fire Brigade post war cap badge in force for only 8 years when the brigade changed its cap badge design to the chrome coat of arms. In excellent condition with the enamel red ring centre attached to the standard economy issue home office star & both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear, the centre being held by 2 chrome prongs & manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham
Blackpool Fire Brigade had 3 fire stations covering 17 square miles & merged into Lancashire Fire Brigade in 1974 after being disbanded by The Fire Services Act of the same year. The pre war Blackpool Fire Brigade cap badge was a "flaming bomb" grenade style cap badge with the bold letters BFB on the front.
