Another great 100% original cap badge from the Birmingham Fire Brigade of the 1920's.  This cap badge is the brass enamel Visiting Officers cap badge on the silver wreath, in force for only 7 years from 1920 to 1927 when a different badge was issued. A "Visiting Officer" was a cap badge issued to an officer of the fire brigade responsible for visiting premises & inspecting them. Birmingham Fire Brigade was formed in 1874 & the brigade has had a few different types of cap badge up until the forming of the N.F.S ( National Fire Service ) in 1941.
