Birkenhead Fire Brigade post ww2 NFS had 2 fire stations covering 14 square miles of the Birkenhead area. The post war Birkenhead Fire Brigade formed in 1947 and lasted until amalgamated into Merseyside Fire Brigade in 1974 so 27 years. 
This Birkenhead Fire Brigade 1948 to 1974 cap badge is in excellent condition. Manufactured by Mike Trueman Badges of Birmingham, the enamel centre fixed to the standard fully pressed issue Home Office star, both cap fixing lugs intact to the rear of the badge.
