A genuine Bermuda Hamilton City Fire Brigade screwback cap badge in excellent condition used from the 1950's until it became BERMUDA FIRE SERVICE in 1982. Many former Bitish colonies adopted a screw back rather than lugged cap badge & this is an example. You can clearly see the original places where lugs were fitted then taken off for a screw fit centre lug to be fitted. This cap badge has the traditional central screw back fixing fitted to many of these British colonial territories fire brigades. Those with lugs still attached were manufacturers OVER RUNS & not issued to the brigade, sold off seperately by the company London Badge & Button Co.
