2nd Pattern Bedfordshire Fire Service 1952-74, the commoner of the varieties to surface for Bedfordshire for this period. There is a rarer chrome variety but this is the 'gilt 'lion and ox' variety with correct lined star to the rear and a long thin brass pin attaching the brass enamel centre to the star.

There is also a '2 lions' ERROR variety in existence, more common in later patterns of the 1974 issue cap badge
