An nice used but excellent condition thin rim variation of the 1st pattern post war Bedforshire Fire Service 1948. Issued for only 4 years, this "Roman Numerals" cap badge has retained its superb patina on the gilt enamel centre, a thin brass pin securing the centre to the standard lined economy issue Home Office star, the chrome lugs intact and show signs of being worn on a cap.
