Admiralty Constabulary was formed in 1949 from the amalgamation of the Royal Marine Police 1934 to 1949 & the Admiralty Civil Police 1927 to 1949. The admiralty Civil Police had their routes traced back to 1686 when Samuel Pepy's the diarist formed a Royal Dockyards protection force made up of porters, rounders, warders  & watchmen ! This continued alongside other police forces controlling Royal Dockyards & within a 5 mile radius.  This force was the FIRST official Dockyard Police Force formed in 1834 & worked alongside the Metropolitan Police Dockyards Division from 1860.

This cap badge is a one piece economy pressed white metal K.C ( Kings Crown 1911 to 1952 ) cap badge & in use for only 3/4 years until replaced by the Q.C ( Queens St Edwards Crown 1953 to 2022 ) so a badge in force for such a short period of time make this cap badge a desireable badge for police cap badge collectors. Both cap fixing lugs are intact to the rear but have been pinched together for use on a retirement board .
