Philipp Emanuel Von Fallenberg, a Swiss educationalist & agronomist ( or agricultural teacher ), made famous for his methods of teaching & moral training in the late 18th & early 19th centuries. 

Born in Bern, Switzerland on 27th June 1771, this fine 900 silver coin weighing 15 grams was struck in 1971 to commemorate the 200 anniversary of the great scholars birth & noteably features his famous school called The Bern Haushaltungsschule he set up with his wife!
He was educated by his mother who was the granddaughter of the famous Dutch Admiral Van Tromp & also another very influential learned man, the great blind poet Gottlieb Konrad Pfeffel of Colmar!
He was somewhat of an ambassador in his early years but tired of politics after witnessing much corruption etc, he dedicated the later part of his life to teaching, at first being ridiculed for his methods but after a while gaining much admiration & respect & attracting many famous & important scholars from around the globe to his school in Bern. He purchased the estate of Hofwyl near Bern in 1799 making the building of the institute possible & continued to thrive there until his death on 21st Nov 1844 aged 73years!
This 900 silver coin is in fine condition & a worthy commemorative to a great learned man!
